Kristin and I went to Mad Dog Saloon tonight where the group Bomshel performed for their CD release. For those that don't know, they are a country group (2 women) who have an incredible single called "Fight like a girl". It's about a woman with cancer and it hits very close to home. It was a great concert and I'd just like to share the end of the song with you.
Fight Like A Girl lyrics BOMSHEL: "Ten years of climbin' that ladder
Oh, but money and power don't matter
When the doctor said 'the cancer spread'
She holds on tight to her husband and babies
And says 'this is just another test God gave me.
And I know just how to handle this'
I'll hold my head high
I'll never let this define
The light in my eyes
Love myself, give it Hell
I'll take on this world
If I stand and be strong
No, I'll never give up
I will conquer with love
And I'll fight like
Like a girl"
When I hear this song I used to think about my own struggle, but now I think about a new friend(you know who you are) who is in the middle of the fight of her life and although I don't know her well (we've never met), I know she is fighting like a girl and I know she's gonna win.
